Formal Presentation

Formal presentation is a collection of architectural drawings compiled over the years. These drawings and digital sketches were constructed as concepts. Various methods from hand drawings to digital collage generated these images. The intent is to develop an accurate base for design alternatives. Once the base is generated, the design can be modified from details and materials to wall systems and formal variants. The purpose is to accelerate the design process by identifying a “cloud of ideas and issues”. The design process evolves through several iterations until the concept begins to coalesce. This “accelerated” process documents design intent and clarifies the presentation direction. The formal presentation image can then be “simplified” to explain design ideas as an evolution of architectural thought. Digital variants determine the “sense of reality” of the image.
